Keep Em Safer Installation Guide Chain System
Keep Em Safer Installation Guide Chain System
Keep Em Safer – Truck And Freight News
This is an installation guide for the chain system:
Now, this is the transmitter that sends the information to the receiver.
We install the transmitter onto the lanyard.
Now that fits on quite easily.
So there it is (transmitter) attached to the lanyard.
Now, the lanyard is actually very special.
It’s got an elastic built into one end of it.
So it adjusts to the chain and makes sure it’s tight when it needs to be tight.
So we’ll fit this transmitter onto the lanyard. Like so.
And I’ll attach one end to the chain.
And then I’ll have to pull it tighter, so this elastic becomes taut.
And I’ll just attach this (lanyard) to the next chain link.
So now when you pull it that’s tight.
So that’s important to have that tight.
And the elastic makes up for the adjustment.
Now, the reason for the spring that’s there
– because you might have 4 or 5 meters of chain, which is quite heavy.
So the weight of the chain might not loosen this lanyard.
Consequently you don’t get the message (on your receiver).
So what we have here is a spring.
Now, the job this spring has is to take up the slack in the chain so that this becomes loose.
So we need to fit that onto this chain.
Now, I’ll just show you on this side where we fit it (spring) on.
Now that goes anywhere in this area.
So I’ll do one (end) and we’ll fit that onto the chain.
Okay. So now this has to go onto the chain here somewhere or back onto here.
So that will be very handy this end, and we’ll put that here.
Now, we’re in a situation where we’re ready to tighten (the) chain and all this is already installed.
So what I’ll do is I’ll tighten the chain.
And you can see that everything is tight.
With the spring, and if it comes loose,
you can see that this is now loose.
The spring allows the chain to be dragged back in to loosen this (lanyard).
So that this (transmitter) can send a message to the receiver.
